The Markoff brothers founded Calleva, Inc. out of their passion for the great outdoors. They grew up in Montgomery County in a family with a strong tradition of outdoorsmanship, environmental conservation and community building. Calleva's mission incorporates all three of these values.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Calleva's innovative programming is mobile, meaning our groups visit the best of the DC area's natural parks, rivers, streams and trails as well as a farm in Dickerson, MD. Depending on the activity being engaged, an optimal location is selected to meet the needs, abilities & interests of every group. Calleva works with schools, scouts, community groups, families and individuals to provide outdoor experiences that foster teamwork, personal growth and environmental awareness.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Calleva is a mobile program with its headquarters at Riley's Lock in the C&O National Historic Park.

Calleva is a 501c3 educational non-profit. Daily operations are run by the Markoff brothers and 15 year-round staff.

Winter, 9:30am-4pm
Spring-Fall, 8:30am-5pm
Calleva is not a walk-up operation. Advance reservations are required for all activities. Overnight experiences can be arranged.
