Twenty-three years - over eighteen in our current location.
What is your primary product or service?
Original art, sculpture and hand-pulled prints by over fifty living african american artists.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As a collector of black art; I was frustrated at not finding galleries in the DC area that specialized in affordable, investment quality original african american art.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Education, Selection and Service. We conduct free seminars on collecting & framing fine art and have over 1,200 originals in the gallery for viewing. We offer private in-home or office showings and make deliveries in the DC/Baltimore metro areas.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Only one location. Our website gives us national and international exposure and we ship world-wide.
Provide detailed directions to your location
From Washington DC 495 Capitol Beltway to 270 North to 70 West. Stay on I-70 past Frederick to Exit 32B (Hagerstown) the ramp brings you onto Dual Highway/Rt. 40. In approximately 2 miles you will see the Venice Inn sign on left and Taco Bell on the right. Turn left at this intersection onto Cleveland Avenue. Make the first right onto Antietam Street. Right after you go through the 4th light (Potomac Street) you will see a courthouse on your right. Immediately after that is a public parking lot and an alley. Make a right into the alley and a left into our parking lot. If you miss the alley, turn right at the light onto Summit Avenue. We are at 40 Summit Avenue - red building on the right. There are parking meters out front but using our parking lot is more convenient.

American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa. We also have flexible payment plans available.

We have clients in 44 states, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.

Eileen is our walking encyclopedia of african american art. Bob is our framing expert.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday/Holidays by appointment only Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am to 5:30 pm Sunday 12:00 Noon to 5:00 pm
